Dr. Claudia Jurowski - Board Member

Dr. Claudia JurowskiDr. Jurowski is a distinguished researcher in the field of hospitality and tourism management. She has authored more than 40 refereed publications, two books, and four book chapters.

Her research has focused on sustainable tourism, especially as related to the effects of tourism on the host population and the environment. She is a past president of the Greater Western Chapter of the Travel and Tourism Research Association, a member of the executive committee of the Business Enterprises for Sustainable Travel Education Network, a member of the Travel and Tourism Research Association and the International Council on Hotel, Restaurant and Institutional Education.  

Dr. Jurowski has served as chair of the School of Hotel and Restaurant Management curriculum committee and the distance learning committee and participated as a member of numerous school and university committees. She was awarded the William B. Keeling Dissertation Award in 2004 by the International Travel and Tourism Association and the Best Paper Award by the International Council on Hotel, Restaurant and Institutional Education in 2009.  She is an avid sailor and is passionate about dancing.
