Actions in Progress : Partnerships

Moving toward renewable energy and energy efficiency in Coconino County entails working with many partners. Action steps include:

• Facilitate a multi-partner effort to create a Northern Arizona Workforce Development and Training Center.
• Continue support for the Northern Arizona Renewable Energy Purchasing Group (NAREG).
• Work with the AZ Department of Commerce Energy Programs office to:
• Assist and train communities on energy infrastructure planning through the Community Energy Planning (CEP) program.
• Promote development of solar energy through participation in the Department’s Solar Road Map process.
• Work with APS to
• Support and promote consumer participation in its Solar & Renewable Incentives, Duct Test & Repair Rebate, Home Performance with Energy Star®, and Green Choice Rates programs.
• Support and promote business participation its Solutions for Business and Green Choice Rates programs.
• Work with Unisource Energy Services to support and promote its energy efficiency programs such as the Efficient Home Heating Program and the Smart Homes Program.
• Work with the Northern Arizona Center for Emerging Technologies (NACET) to identify and support incubation of sustainable companies and entrepreneurs, particularly when tied to research activities at Northern Arizona University.
