Resources and Opportunities : Coconino County Basic Business Empowerment Program

Basic Business Empowerment consists of two independent opportunities:

  1. Build the foundation for your small business utilizing the popular First Step FastTrac training program. A $75 registration fee covers the cost of the student manual and other materials needed for this 36-hour training. This training program is best suited to anyone who is in the pre-start up stage of their business or has a new, fledgling business, and is open to any resident of Coconino County.
  2. Federal and local grant funding is available for qualifying low-income applicants who are selected for the Assets for Independence Individual Development Account Match Savings Program. For every $1 a participant saves toward the start-up or expansion of a home-based or other small business (up to $2,000), $2 will be provided as a matching grant. The registration fee for this program is $25. This program is available to those who are economically disadvantaged and meet certain qualifying criteria.
