Resources and Opportunities: The Diablo Canyon RPA

In 2003 the Coconino County Board of Supervisors established The Diablo Canyon Rural Planning Area (RPA) to help several large ranches east of Flagstaff take advantage of sustainable economic development opportunities. A Plan for the RPA, approved by the Supervisors in 2005, describes opportunities for wind energy, ecotourism, low impact housing, wood products, value-added beef, and more. More information and the complete plan are available from Diablo Trust, a northern Arizona collaborative grassroots land management team.
